I first met Todd Mack when I was writing The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Playing Bass Guitar. Todd owns and runs Off The Beat ‘N’ Track Recording Studio and he helped me to produce the audio CD that accompanies the book.
Todd is also a musical artist, with a long history of performing, songwriting and recording. Before moving to the Berkshires, Todd was centered in Atlanta, Georgia. In one of those funny turns life takes sometimes, Todd met a then-relatively recent refugee from the Berkshires named Danny Pearl, who had moved to Atlanta as part of his new job at the Wall Street Journal. Todd and Danny ended up being band mates for a while.
You undoubtedly know how Danny’s story went. He was murdered by terrorists in Pakistan in 2002. And that’s how most of the world knows him.
But Danny was a musician. And maybe this would be a good time to let Todd tell a bit of the tale:

Hi Janica
They apparently didn’t get a gig for Saturday, October 25. But they will be playing the days before and after:
Friday 10/24 – Starry Plough, Berkeley, CA
Sunday 10/ 26 – Hotel Café, Los Angeles, CA
You can also get the scheduled line up of musicians at the Fodfest website.
I’ll be here on the twenty-fifth, hopefully catching Richard Thompson at the Mahaiwe Theater.
Peace
